I grew up in a very poor household but I was always happy. My parents tried their best, worked very hard, but we still struggled with money. Over the years, I learned some very valuable life lessons. I learned that even if you don’t have money and can’t afford nice things, you are rich in heart and soul if you have a lot of love in your life. Our home was always filled with love and plenty of laughter and, even though I’m an adult now and no longer struggling with money, I make a point of teaching my kids that money is always useful, but love and happiness is much more important. I know that many people think I’m crazy for thinking this way but it is my way of trying to be kind and happy in my own unique way. I’m grateful that my parents taught me to be happy above all else.
